| For ATV and biking enthusiasts, Camp Conewango is situated at the west end of the Voyageur Multi Use Trail System (VMUTS), which features some of the finest trails the Near North has to offer. With access to over 200 km of marked trails at our doorstep, you can explore old logging roads, rolling hillsides, clear rivers and lakes. The Trails have coloured signs, rated with different levels of difficulty. Experts and beginners alike will find us a comfortable base for all their outdoor adventures.More information about the Voyageur Multi Use Trail System VMUTS. | Lake Talon is part of a historic waterway, the Nippissing Voyageur Passageway. This waterway took early travellers from the Ottawa River, Mattawa River through Talon Lake and Trout Lake into Lake Nipissing. The Mattawa and North Rivers are easily accessible by canoe, kayak or even by small motor boat. From Camp Conewango short or long trips are possible. Take a day trip to explore the breathtaking scenery of the route taken by the voyageurs, or take a short paddle along the shoreline. The Dead River, just minutes from Camp Conewango, is a calm paradise with mirror-like reflections on the water. For fishing or watching wildlife, including birds, turtles, beavers, martens, muskrats and, if you are lucky, even deer or moose, the Dead River offers a quiet place to enjoy the solitude of nature. Visit the bays and many islands on Lake Talon or the south end with the canyon like access to the chutes from where the Mattawa River leads to the Ottawa River . We have rental canoes, kayaks and motor boats available.

| Fishing: |
| For the dedicated angler or the family that enjoys fishing together, Lake Talon always provides you with the opportunity to catch a real prize. You will find Pickerel (Walleye), Great Northern Pike, Muskie, Bass and Lake Trout. Motor boat rentals are available (14 feet aluminum boats with 9.9 HP motors) and we sell worms at the store.The trails around our Camp will lead you to many remote lakes where you can fish for speckle trout and perch.

| Hiking and Nature watching: |
The hills surrounding Lake Talon offer a variety of opportunities for walking and hiking. Ask us about our favourite destinations.
Wildlife abounds around Camp Conewango. Deer sightings are frequent and loons can often be seen and heard. It's also a birdwatchers paradise. At night, our clear skies offer amateur astronomers a breathtaking view of the stars.

volleyball, badminton
and horse shoes. There is
also a playground
for the children.

| Hunting: |
This is deer country and with miles of trails and logging roads it is easy to find wildlife in its natural environment.

| Snowmobiling: |
In the winter the snowmobile trails are groomed right to our door (Trail NB 301, NB 305 and Trail BF 201). The area is well known for early and late snowfall. Central to North Bay, Mattawa and Bonfield this is a good place to start your snowmobile tour. The housekeeping cottages are winterised and we sell trail permits, gas and oil. You can cook you own meals or come to the restaurant for lunch and dinner. On special request we also serve breakfast.
